Pop up Bird House Cards- A7 and A2!

Today, I'm mixing the old with the new to create 4 fun Pop up Bird House cards! I used some older and newer Scrappy Tails bird stamps and floral dies along with our new "A7 Pop up Bird House" die set to create two beautiful A7 sized bird houses and two A2 sized Bird houses. And yes, these cards do fold flat for mailing!

Bird House Video Tutorial

My first video is a comprehensive, slowed down tutorial that shows how to build your own A7 Pop up Bird House card.
My first card features all new products from our latest "Heartfelt Wings" Spring collection, our "A7 Pop up Bird House" die set and our "Spring Birds and Blooms" 6x8 stamp set and coordinating dies.
I started by stamping and Copic coloring three of the beautiful bird images from the stamp set. I used their coordinating dies to cut them out.
Next, I assembled the bird house. Please see my video tutorial above to learn how to fully construct the pop up.
I decorated the front of the bird house with the wood grain panels, the separate roof pieces and the window frames included in the "A7 Pop up Bird House" die set. The rest of the card was decorated with my stamped die cuts.
The sentiment from our "Spread Your Wings" 6x8 stamp set was white heat embossed and die cut with it's coordinating die.

More Bird House Ideas + A2 Cards

Now, lets use some older bird stamps to create three more bird houses, two of them I made into A2 Cards!

After assembling another bird house, I decorated the front with the same wood grain panels, roof pieces and window frames.

This time, I used stamped birds from our older "Spring Birds" 6x8 stamp set. Fun fact, my grandma drew this beautiful set! I used their coordinating dies to cut them out.

I accented the birds with a few ink blended flowers and leaves that I die cut using our "Assorted Leaves" and "Garden Stand Flowers" die sets.

The sentiment is from the same "Spread Your Wings" stamp set. I used its' coordinating die to cut it out.

These last two cards are super fun! I wanted to extend the use of the "A7 Pop up Bird House" die set, by making A2 cards too! I love when you can maximize the use of a die set. I know that our pop up dies are an investment, so it's important for me to find different ways to use them!

To create the A2 version, all I did was cut off the top piece of the bird house base with my scissors. That's pretty much it! Otherwise, you assemble the card the exact same way.

If you look closely, my first A2 bird house has a fun tiki weave pattern etched into the yellow layering panel. I created this look using our "Slimline Tiki Weave" die set.

Instead of cutting the window that's included in the "A7 Pop up Bird House" die set, I decided to cut a heart window instead. My heart is from our "Slimline Pop up Bird House" die set. Yes, we have a slimline bird house too lol! I also cut it's coordinating heart frame to go around the window. This added a cute detail to the card design!

Inside the window, I added a stamped humming bird from our "Mama Birds" 4x6 stamp set. I cut it out using it's coordinating die.

I decorated the outside of the bird house with some more flowers and leaves that I die cut from our "Assorted Leaves" and "Garden Stand Flowers" die sets.

The sentiment, again, is from our new "Spread Your Wings" stamp set. I used its' coordinating die to cut it out.

My second A2 bird house has an embossed woodgrain on it's purple layering panel. I created it with our "Slimline Woodgrain" die set. Instead of using the die to cut the woodgrain, I embossed it instead.

This time, I cut the circle window from the same "Slimline Pop up Bird House" die set. Around the window, I added a dark purple scalloped circle frame.

The rest of the card was decorated with another humming bird from our "Mama Birds" stamp set. I used its coordinating die to cut it out. The branch that the bird is sitting on is from the "Spring Birds" stamp set. I used its coordinating die to cut it out.

Finally, I accented the bird house with a few layering daisies.

That finishes off my cards today! I hope these inspire you to try out our new "A7 Pop up Bird House" die set. You can use whatever birds stamps/dies you have in your stash to decorate these!
